It's officially St. Patrick's Day week! With the holiday falling on a Friday this year, it's a perfect chance to host a little gathering. I've put together a fun, easy, drink station setup complete with a recipe for some delicious green Pinch Me Punch! In addition, I've teamed up with 8 other fabulous bloggers to showcase other fun ideas. Check out all the blogs and enter to win a fun giveaway at the bottom of this post!

I love using our bar area for little party setups, but I was wanting a little more of a festive backdrop. I had some extra green plates around from our Super Bowl party and got to thinking it would be pretty easy to put together a backdrop out of paper plates and some foam shamrocks.

What You Need

  • 2 Types of Dinner-Sized Paper Plates

  • 1-2 Types of Dessert-Sized Paper Plates

  • Foam Board (White or Black)

  • Hot Glue Gun

  • Foam Shamrocks (optional)

To keep this as economical as possible, I used leftover green plates I'd picked up at Dollar Tree for our Super Bowl party. I also had some small white paper plates leftover from another gathering. I found the green and white polka dot plates and the gold plates on clearance at Target for $1.40 per package. I picked up a package of foam shamrocks from Dollar Tree ($1) and a black foam board ($1).

To start, I laid out the paper plates on the foam board to create a pattern and layout I liked. Then I started to hot glue each plate into place. Using hot glue, I attached a foam shamrock to each dessert-sized plate and layered those on top of the dinner plates. I was surprised how quickly I had the backdrop assembled and for only a few dollars!

One of my girlfriends whipped one up for her son's first birthday party this last weekend and used a different set of plates. They both turned out so cute!

With the backdrop in place, I got out one of my trusty gold vintage trays. These come in handy for so many different parties! I used a set of milk glass jars ($4 on clearance from Target) and dressed them up with mustaches from the Target Dollar Spot ($1), green jute twine ($1 at Dollar Tree) and green paper straws I picked up for pennies at the Michaels after-Christmas clearance.

No St. Patty's party would be complete without some beverages! That is where leprechaun-approved Pinch Me Punch comes in for the win! My mom made this punch many times over the years and I was so excited to try it out myself.

Pinch Me Punch

  • 1 - 2 Liter Bottle Sprite

  • 1 - Frozen Limeade Juice Concentrate

  • 1 - Frozen Orange Juice Concentrate

  • 1 - Container Lime Sherbet

Combine frozen juice concentrates with Sprite. Soften ice cream (30 seconds in microwave works) and add into the punch. Watch the punch turn green and enjoy! This makes a large punch bowl worth. Feel free to halve the recipe to make a smaller serving. For a little extra "punch," if you will, mix in gin or vodka.
