A Year of Bars! 2017 Edition

It's hard to believe 2017 is coming to a close! As the year comes to an end, we often are already looking into 2018 with plans, resolutions, and goals. Sometimes, I find myself forgetting to reflect on everything accomplished during the current year and taking time to celebrate the goals achieved, friends made, and opportunities you couldn't have imagined at the beginning of the year!

In the spirit of reflection, this has been a good year for Legally Crafty! I am so appreciative of all of the support I've received from readers like you, my fam.,ily & friends, and the creative community! I was able to participate in amazing collaborations with fellow creatives that pushes me to be even more creative! I also did my first set of live DIY workshops! Many of you also joined me on Instagram to participate in some fun craft challenges full of fun and creativity. Thank you all for a great year-- I can't wait to see what 2018 has in store!

As a fun look back on 2017, I am sharing a blog post round-up of my 12 months (almost) of DIY bars! The months that got ignored were made up for in months with two bars, but I'd love to hear you ideas in the comments for what to do in April & June next year! Click the title links to visit each post.

January:

Pop, Fizz, Clink: A New Year's Bar on a Budget

I kicked off the New Year with this fun and festive New Year's bar. It was really the first time I'd fully decorated our bar area and I was quickly hooked.

February:

Super Bowl Sunday

Check out how to make a DIY Lombardi Trophy!

Next up was the Superbowl! We had a fun get together with friends that included a variety of chili and a fun Super Bowl predictions pool. The winner took home a cash prize and won rights to the DIY Lombardi Trophy linked to above.

An Award Winning Bar for Oscar Sunday

February was double duty with the Oscars. I made my own little printables and loved those little favor tux bags from Dollar Tree.

March:

Shamrock Drink Station + Pinch Me Punch

March was my first blog hop with some fun and talented ladies! I put together this drink station complete with a festive green punch. The recipe is definitely worth checking out!

Pop, Clink, Swish: The Final Countdown to the Final Four

March was another double duty month! This final four bar was my first collaboration with Meghan of Elva M. Design. It was the first of many fabulous collaborations this year.

May:

For Your Fiesta: DIY Sombrero Place Card Holders

At our house we love any chance to have delicious Mexican food. This margarita/tequila bar was a great way to add a little something special for Cinco de Mayo.

Run for the Roses: Kentucky Derby Party

Even though Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby were close together this year, I couldn't pass up doing a bar setup for both. This was another fun collaboration with Elva M. Design!

July:

Party Like It's 1776: A 4th of July Bar

In July I joined a fun craft challenge with other talented bloggers! I was inspired by the idea of our Founding Fathers and created this 1776 themed bar for the holiday.

August:

When Life Gives You Lemons, Make a Lemonade Stand for Grown-Ups

Who said kids are the only ones who get a lemonade stand?! This adult lemonade station was perfect for the hottest month of the summer!

September:

Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice Coffee Bar

September brought a new round of craft challenges. I am a super fan of pumpkin spice, so the bar became a coffee station full of fall goodness.

October:

More Boos Please: Dollar Store DIY Halloween Bar

Halloween is always a favorite holiday! This year I kept the bar ghostly and added some fun light variations! Can you  believe most of this decor came from the Dollar Tree?

November:

Totally Tubular: A 1980s Throwback 30th Birthday

November brought my 30th birthday! The bar area turned into a fun throwback candy bar. Guests took home an assortment as their party favor!

December

Winter Woodland Bar

As the year wrapped up, things got a little busy and I didn't get the bar fully written up at December, but it made a great first post in January! I am planning to keep it up throughout the first month.

I'm so excited to start all over again in 2018!
